Australia Silver Bullion Coin Lunar II – Year of the Goat 2015, 1000 g of 0.9999 Fine Silver
The 2015 Year of the Goat coin belongs to The Perth Mint’s Lunar II series. Struck from 1 kilogram (32.1507 troy ounces) of 0.9999 fine silver, the coin has a diameter of 100.6 mm. Each coin is presented in a protective capsule. The Goat (or Sheep) is the eighth animal in the 12-year lunar cycle. In Chinese culture, the number eight symbolizes peace and prosperity, making the Year of the Goat particularly auspicious. The goat itself represents harmony, gentleness, and growth. The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse, designed by Ing Ing Jong, depicts a family of goats in a pastoral setting, along with the Chinese character for “goat” and the inscription “Year of the Goat.” The kilo format combines substantial silver content with refined artistic design, making this coin attractive to both bullion investors and Lunar series collectors.
